Robert Gordon Huras, age 86, of Stratford, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Rotary hospice Stratford Perth on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Born in Stratford, son of the late Albert and Etta (Spears) Huras. Bob is survived by his true love and soulmate Tilly (Franz) Huras of 63 years. Proud and very loved father of Laurie (Norm) Coursol. The most wonderful Papa to Angela (Shane) Rees. Bob was the last surviving member of the Huras family, he will be remembered by his sister-in-law Anna Mae Huras, the Franz and Huras in laws and his many nieces and nephews. Bob will be best known for his ability to help people, he also loved to repair lawn mowers. He will be missed by his family and numerous friends. The family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful staff and Rotary Hospice for the outstanding care and compassion given to Bob. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his siblings Ron, Walter, Roy, Mervin, Leonard and Albert.
Family and friends are invited to Bob’s visitation on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery.
