It is with saddened hearts the family of Robert Charles ‘Charlie’ Wilkinson announce his passing after losing his battle with cancer. Charlie was born in Readlyn , Sask to Arnold and Helen Wilkinson. The family homesteaded in Pleasantdale , Sask where he grew up, one of 6 boys in the family. At the age of 19 Charlie joined the Royal Canadian Engineer division of the Army. Charlie is a Korean War Veteran and he also served peacekeeping duties in 1963 at Gaza Strip (Egypt) during the Arab-Israeli conflict. Having met the love of his life as a child in school, Charlie came back after the Korean War and married Joyce Cann on Sept 15, 1952.Together they went on to have a daughter and a son. Charlie was predeceased by his mother and father and 3 brothers. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 69+ years -Joyce, daughter Lorena Bow and his son Ron; his grandchildren Kenn Bow, Aritina (Chris), Christina and James (Laura);greatgrandchildren Brianne, Kylee and Mason. He is also survived by brothers Greg and Larry, sister-in-law’s, and their families.Cremation had taken place Charlie will be laid to rest in Pleasantdale , Sask. A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be announced at a later date.
