Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 17, 1932 to Norman and Helen Bray, just before they moved to the family farm known as brayside located near Oshawa, Ontario. During the war his family moved around a lot while his father was training English pilots at Trenton, but brayside was “home”. In 1948 he moved to London, Ontario and attended Sir Adam Beck Collegiate where he met Marie and they were married April 23, 1955. In 1974 Bob finally talked Marie into “moving out West” and they found their home at Chelsea Green in Langley in 1998.
In earlier years Bob and Marie loved to go on cruises.
Bob passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2022, at the age of 90.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie, son Doug Bray, daughter Julie (Bryan) Garland and grandchildren Amanda Bray, Jesse Bray, Sabrina Garland and Shane Garland, and his niece Catherine Smith.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Norman and Helen Bray, his infant daughter Elizabeth Marie Bray, his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Smith, brother-in-law Melvin Smith, and nephew Bob Smith.
An informal celebration of Bob’s life will be held on June 26, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 in the Clubhouse of Chelsea Green, where Bob and Marie lived for the past 23 years.
