Robert Amminson
November 26th, 1951 – September 8th, 2022
Robert Amminson of St. John’s, NL passed away suddenly and peacefully on September 8th, 2022, at the age of 70.
He is predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Emma Amminson; sisters Ruby Ramos, Sandra Dray and Elizabeth Amminson; brothers-in-law Tony Dray and David Curtis; father-in-law Patrick Curtis, mother-in-law Grace Curtis and special aunt Mary Hollahan.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Linda (Curtis); sisters Barbara McKay (Craig) and Debbie McLean (Robert); sisters-in-law Carol Hancock (Edward) and Barbara Curtis; brothers -in-law Bud Curtis (Sue), Paul Curtis (Theresa), Michael Curtis and Brasilino Ramos; best friends Shawn and Marion Whalen, and Ron and Heather Williams; and a large circle of nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews who adored their uncle Bob and especially loved their visits and sleepovers at Bob and Linda’s.
Bob was an employee at Molson Brewery in St. John’s for 37 years until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed his retirement years travelling with Linda and their friends, fishing, working part-time at Quidi Vidi Brewery, and spending time with his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, for whom he created a great skating rink every winter on the small pond behind his home on Regiment Road.
Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Monday September 12th from 11:00am – 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held in the Barrett’s Funeral chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Tuesday September 13th, at 11:00am. Flowers gratefully appreciated or a donation can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
