Obituary of Rita Mariette Marie Riopel
RIOPEL, Rita Mariette Marie (née Philion) – At the age of 74 years, of Chapleau, passed away peacefully on Monday August 8th, 2022 at the Chapleau Health Services.
Rita was born in Chapleau and raised in Sultan. She went on to become a hairstylist and was a devoted housewife and enjoyed her daily walks with the love of her life Normand of 52 years.
Rita is survived by her husband Normand Riopel, her daughter Angèle Clermont (John), grandson Mario Morin (Courtney St-Georges) and great grandchildren Noah Morin and Everleigh Morin. Rita is survived by her brother Leonard Philion of Chapleau and is preceded in death by her parents Paul Philion and Blanche Langlois, her sister Jeannette Hébert (late Claude) and her great granddaughter Jessie Evianne Morin.
At Rita’s request, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie.
Memorial donations may be made to Chapleau Health Services Foundation would be appreciated. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dan Morin (Debbie) for daily calls and visits to Normand during this very difficult time.
