It is with great sadness that we announce the passing
of Rita Landry, 101, of Cap-Pelé, at the Dr.
Georges-L.-Dumont UHC on Saturday April 30, 2022. Born in
Cap-Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Sarah
(Landry) Gaudet. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
Rita was very resourceful, generous towards others,
and proud that she lived in her home up until her
passing.
Rita will be sadly missed by her two daughters:
Géraldine Turcotte (Jean-Paul) of Dieppe and Roberte Brun
(Guy) of Cap-Pelé; two sons: Paul (Roberte) and Alfred
(Zélica) all of Cap-Pelé; one daughter in-law,
Bernice of Cap-Pelé; 11 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sifroid Landry
(2001); one son, Roméo; two sisters; five
brothers.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2462, Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé
on Wednesday May 4 from 7 to 9 pm
only. The funeral will be celebrated at
Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648,
Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, on Thursday May 5 at 1 pm. Interment
will be in the parish cemetery. Face coverings are
recommended for entering the funeral
centre and the church.
In memory of Rita,
a contribution to the charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
