Richard William “Jake” Brown
1958-2022
Richard W. “Jake” Brown, 63,
died August 27, 2022, at his home in Kentville. He was born December
5, 1958, in Toronto, Ontario, the son of Verna (Cuttress) Sawler and
William Brown and as a young boy moved with his family to Nova Scotia.
Richard spent many years working and traveling around the world and
later returned to live in Nova Scotia with his partner, Brenda Wood.
In addition
to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Debbie. He is
survived by his partner, Brenda; his step-father, Kenny; his son,
Adam; his brothers, Wayne (Evie), Gary (Bonnie); his sister Jean
(Nick); several nephews and nieces.
Much
gratitude is given to the Palliative Care team, the VON and the Home
Support who provided comfort to Richard and his family during his
final days as he fought and lost his battle against
cancer.
A private
interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in
memory may be made to Chrysalis House or a charity of choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
