Lamarche, Richard 1955-2022
In loving memory of Richard Lamarche who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Health Sciences North at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of 35 years to Cindy (née Leblond) Lamarche. Predeceased by his parents, Henri and Alice (née Prévost) Lamarche, and Cindy’s parents, Isadore and Bernice (née Saché) Leblond. Survived by his stepson Erik Levac (the late Josée Lafleur) and Erik’s children Matthew and Chelsea Levac. Brother of Claude (Noella) of Sudbury and Louise (Roger Courtois) of Montreal. Brother-in-law of Issy Jr (Suzanne) of Ottawa, Maurice (Nancy Gulyas) of Huntsville, Tammy Leblond of Sudbury and Lori Morin (Marc) of Waterloo. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rick was a heavy equipment mechanic at INCO (Vale) for 32 years, working much of his career at Creighton Mine. Since a small child, Rick spent his summers at the family cottage on the French River. He eventually built his own cottage there which became his happy place. In his retirement, Rick took up curling which became quite a passion of his. He developed some great friendships and great love for the game. When he wasn’t curling, Rick enjoyed watching hockey especially his Montreal Canadiens. I’m sure he’ll be looking forward to meeting up once again with his hero, Guy Lafleur, to discuss what the Habs need to do to build their team.
At Rick’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. In his memory, play a game of cribbage, drink a glass of Pinot Grigio, eat a butter tart or take up curling! Memorial donations can be made on line to Curl Sudbury (Rick’s favourite curling club) at NSTF-Ontario Donor Form Curl Sudbury or Maison McCulloch Hospice maisonsudburyhospice.org/donate. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
