KOOTSTRA
Peacefully, with family by his side, at Clinton Public Hospital on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in his 87th year, Richard Kootstra of Clinton. Father of Johanna (Geoff Rether), Rick (Leanne Armstrong), Rob (Janet Bosma), Jon, Derek (Michelle Shropshall), and Roxanne. Pake to Jonathan, Michael, David, Andrea, Brookelyn, Sydney, Sieger, Lauren, Hayden and Matthew. Survived by his sister-in-law Pat Kootstra and brothers-in-law Bruce Dykstra and Gary DeGroot. Also survived by the mother of his children, Rachel Kootstra. Richard was also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their children. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Johanna Kootstra, brother Wesley, and sisters Vicky and Henny.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Clinton Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. A live stream will also be made available by link below.
Private family interment at Baird’s Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Clinton Legion 95 Kirk Street, Clinton, on Wednesday, March 30 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Clinton Public Hospital or Huron Residential Hospice.

  2. To the Kootstra family, you have my deepest sympathies. Richard was always extremely kind and a good friend to our family. He always had good advice to give and did so with only good intentions. People such as him are rare indeed. I wish you strength during this difficult time.
