Obituary for Richard Duncan
On Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, Richard Wayne Duncan passed away at the age of 70. Survived by his beloved wife Cheska (nee Ravenhorst). Proud father to Tracy (the late Tom, 2014) Powell, Kenneth Duncan (Tonya LaFontaine), Jodi Duncan, Trevor (Kelly) Duncan. Loving Papa to Clayton (Jen) Powell, Kyle Powell, Dylan Kameka, Dawson Kameka, Travis LaFontaine, Roxanne Clouatre, Savannah Clouatre, Madison Duncan and her son Mavrick “Merv”, Ryleah Duncan, and Autumn, Austin, and Bralynn Duncan. Survived by his sister Jackie and her husband Sam Kay, sisters-in-law, Alice Duncan and Kathy Duncan, and his brother-in-law Don Metcalfe. He will be dearly missed by mother-in-law Francis (the late John) Ravenhorst ,and brothers and sisters-in-law Anne (Larry) Salts, Harry (Joan) Ravenhorst, Carolyn (Mike) Mahar, John (Nancy) Ravenhorst, and Jodie Ravenhorst, and the late Jane Scholte. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews Predeceased by his parents Frank and Gladys Duncan, and his siblings John (the late Holly) Duncan, Kenneth Duncan, Betty (the late Bill) Hackett, Don Duncan, Merlin (the late Ann) Duncan, Shirley Metcalfe, Jean (the late Bob) McDonald, Doug Duncan, Ralph Duncan.
Pa was an early riser. Timmies was promptly served at 4:10 a.m. followed by some quiet time relaxing on the deck. Richard loved classic cars, and he was finally able to get a hold of a black 40 Ford Coupe – his ultimate dream car. Sunday’s meant listening to gospel bluegrass in the truck with a double double and a cigarette before cooking a traditional fried breakfast. Afternoons meant a nap and then searching for the latest deal on facebook marketplace. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 12:00p.m. at Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia with visitation prior, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Pathway’s Centre for Children (www.pathwayscentre.org/)
