Sydney
We, the family of Lorraine Ann (Stockl) Reel, regretfully announce her passing on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital palliative care unit, Sydney, with her family by her side.
Born on December 1, 1948, in Whitney Pier, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Stockl.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, George Mills; son, Michael (Angela) and the love of her life, her granddaughter, Hailey Lynn Reel.
Ma donated many years to the Ashby Legion, where she made many good friendships and enjoyed her time there. Her other secret love was for the Toronto Raptors, hopefully they win one someday for her.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for taking great care of mom as she had been sick for some time. Special thanks to Dr. Gamble, Dr. Worth, Dr. Aboud and nurse, Madison Surette for their kindness. Thanks to her lifelong friends, Barry Walsh, Mike Lively and Wilma McInnis.
There will be no visitation for the late Lorraine Reel. A graveside service will be celebrated on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. in New Calvary Cemetery, Whitney Pier with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating.
Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
