It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Raymond Eric Strang of Lawn announces his passing. Raymond passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s on Friday, February 11th, 2022 at the age of 78.
Raymond Strang was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather who spent his life diligently working for his family.
He was a hardworking entrepreneur who operated many businesses in Burin. He then moved to Lawn to be close to family where he spent the rest of his career as a fisherman.
Raymond was a smart man, industrious and very creative. He was also very generous, and kind to everyone. He loved his community and all of his friends. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman who loved to tell a joke, have a drink and have a laugh. The twinkle in his eye, and the big smile he greeted everyone with will last in our hearts always.
He will forever be remembered and respected for the amazing man that he was.
He leaves behind with a lifetime of fond and loving memories, his devoted wife Agnes after 56 years of wonderful marriage; children, Wayne Strang (Wanda) of Toronto, Patrick Strang (Charlene) of Marystown, Iris Edwards of Lawn, Ray Strang of Vancouver, Elaine Strang of Quebec, and Trina Edwards (Shawn) of Lawn; special friend and son-in-law, Leonard “Brud” Edwards of Lawn; 7 grandchildren, Jordan Strang, Megan Strang, Eric Strang, Leonard Edwards, Janelle Edwards (Shay), Rebecca Strang, and Shawna Edwards; 1 great-grandson Cohen Edwards; sister, Iris Martin (Roland) of St. Anne, N.B; special mention to his friends, Pad Edwards, Joey Strang, Harvey Brenton and Corey Clarke; plus a large number of family and friends.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Adele Strang; brother, Norbert Strang (Aundrietta); and Patrick and Mona White who loved him like a son.
As per Raymond’s wishes cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
