CLARKSON, Robert “Cam” Campbell

Cam Clarkson passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the age of 77 years of heart failure. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty of 50 years; children, Glenn, Angela Willson (Randy & family Aidyn, Keegan, Kayley, Nevin & Dillon) and Karen McKinney (Greg & family Brendan, Kaisley-Ann (Nathan) & Ryan (Ashley).
He was predeceased by his mom & dad, Beth & Glen Clarkson of Dauphin, MB; brother & sister-in-law, Bert & Donna, Winnipeg, MB; sister, Lynn Gray, Stonewall, MB; his in-laws, Henry & Katherine Bergen, Winnipeg, MB; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Dueck and Vera Wiebe both of Winnipeg, MB.
Cam lived a very active and varied life moving for better career opportunities from Dauphin to Winnipeg, Brandon, Thompson, Missi Falls, Sundance, MB, Hanna & Sherwood Park, and finally Red Deer, AB. Upon his retirement from Alberta Transportation as Regional Manager of Transportation and Human Resources in 2000 he began an extensive ministry with SOWER’s (Servants on Wheels, Ever Ready), travelling into the southern United States for the winter months and doing repairs and maintenance work on Christian facilities. During the summer months Cam worked as a grounds keeper at Lakewood Golf Course and in Safety at Nova Chemicals. Before retirement he was active in Boy Scouts of Canada achieving his Queen Scout ring, Kinsmen, United Way and Habitat for Humanity. He was a founding Director of Human Resources Institute of Alberta. A personal goal of Cam’s was to be baptized in the Jordan River, a dream he achieved on Feb. 22, 2013.
The family wishes to thank the paramedics, RCMP and Alternatives Funeral Home for their support. Memorial donations on Cam’s behalf may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
