RENTON; Phyllis – It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our family matriarch, Phyllis Renton (DeCarolis) on Wednesday October 19th, 2022 in her 88th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Bill Renton for 64 years. Loving mother of Steven (Deborah) of Burlington, Bill Jr. (Sue) of Waterford, Anthony (Cynthia), of Simcoe the late Larry (Tracy) of Simcoe. Proud grandmother of Matthew (Kaleigh), Allison, Brittney (Steven), Billy, Joseph, Jeremy, Nicole (Eddie), Lucas (Adrienne) Victoria (Josh), Jacob, John, and Shentel. Great Grand Nona of Benjamin, Gregory, Samantha, Jackson, Easton, Sabastian, Duke, Lainey and Mason, Brixton and Savanah. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Angelina DeCarolis. Dearest sister of Sandy Carcone (late John). Predeceased by her brothers, sisters and respective inlaws, Rita and Lundy Gaglioni, Chester and Viola DeCarolis, Carrie and Lou Ceci, Gabe and Rene DeCarolis, Mary and Paul King and Joyce Ryckman. Beloved Aunt to many special nieces and nephews. Mom was blessed with many cherished friends. She lived for over 60 years on Norfolk Street South Simcoe. Phyllis was a member of St. Mary’s Church for 65 years. She was a staple at so many school and sporting events around the province, following her sons, and grandchildren in their activities. She was truly considered a mother to many others, and was always the first to help anyone in need, or to cook them an amazing meal. She lived a life of love and compassion and her family and friends meant the world to her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dover Cliffs, Port Dover and Rosewood Retirement Home for their amazing compassion and care. They were truly so loving and committed to Phyllis’s care and well-being. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Phyllis with her family at Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe 519-426-1314 for visitation on Thursday October 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm (with prayers at 6:45 pm). The funeral mass will take place on Friday October 28th, 2022 at 12:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 211 Union St. Simcoe, with Father Augustine Ogundele officiating. Interment to follow at Port Dover Cemetery. If so desired, those wishing to donate in memory of Phyllis are asked to consider the Who Did It Club of Simcoe.
