Pauline Fischer (nee Langlois)
It is with great love and sadness we announce the passing of Pauline, at the age of 87, on March 25, 2022.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Jo-Anne (Paul) Cassidy, Cheryl (Neil) Prior, brothers, Paul Langlois and George (Mary) Langlois, sister, Georgette (Tom) Kalis, sister-in-law, Doreen Fischer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; son, Kenneth; parents, Raoul and Alice Langlois; sisters, Lauraine Zwarn and Eva Hall, and multiple brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Pauline was born, raised, worked, and lived in the Lamoureux/Fort Saskatchewan, Edmonton, and Sherwood Park areas. She loved her large group of family and friends, and socializing with them in person or by telephone. Pauline enjoyed travelling throughout North America, Hawaii, and to Malta and London, England. She also had fun bowling, playing bingo and the lottery, and visiting casinos on occasion, with much of her winnings going to various charities.
Pauline cherished her “third daughter,” Pat, and all the caring friends and relatives who took time to help her and make her feel special in so many ways. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, aunt, great-aunt and dear friend, who always had a big smile for everyone.
She endured many hard times throughout her life, but continued to be resilient through it all.
Special thanks to Mom’s wonderful care team, Dr. Ukeme Inyang-Otu, Dr. Naheed Rajabali and staff at the Movement Disorder Clinic, and all the kind staff at Laurier House Strathcona.
As per Pauline’s request, there will be no funeral. A memorial mass may be held at a later date. Donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Mazankowski Heart Institute, the Capital Care Foundation Strathcona (Laurier House), the Cerebral Palsy Association, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, or a charity of one’s choice.
