It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paula McPherson. Paula passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Niagara Health Centre, in St. Catharines, Ontario with her beloved son, Michael McPherson Jason, by her side.
Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, on May 17, 1951. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bob Jason, and her parents Dan Hughie and Irene (Vallas) McPherson. Paula is survived by her son, Michael (Toronto, ON); sister Shauna (John) Purdy (Hammonds Plains, NS); niece Janet (Leigh) Wetmore; and nephews Rob (Christine) Purdy and Jamie (Gillian) Purdy.
Paula obtained her LL.B from Dalhousie University and her LL.M from Osgoode Hall Law School. She practiced law in Toronto before she, Bob, Michael, and herself moved to St. Catharines, where she was later appointed a Deputy Judge in Small Claims Court.
Vibrant and vivacious, Paula was competitive, whether playing golf or scrabble, and displayed incredible grit and tenacity throughout her life. She was warm-hearted, outgoing and inquisitive. She cherished her friends and family and loved the cottage life and the beautiful sunsets on Ten Mile Bay in Lake of Bays.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, at 11:30 a.m., at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel (39 Court St, St. Catharines), with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice. Messages of condolence can be left at: www.pjdartefh.ca
