January 2, 1952 – August 4, 2022
After a brief, courageous battle with cancer, Paul died on August 4. He was generous with his laughter and love, and is deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Paul and his twin brothers John and Richard grew up in Port Moody. With his parents Eric and Bette, he lived in Pakistan for a year, where he had a pet monkey, Charlie Brown, and developed his love for travel. After graduating high school in Port Moody he travelled widely, then attended SFU where he met the love of his life, Jennifer. They married in 1979, making their home in Vancouver.
Their home was a hub for family, where Paul took great pleasure in his role as new step brother to Bridget and Mike, and uncle to Adam, Lillie, and Clayton.
During their long and loving marriage Paul and Jennifer travelled extensively through the States, making their home in Oregon City to be close to family, and where they made many great friends and memories. Paul and Jennifer moved back to BC to support Paul’s father Eric, where their circle of friends increased. They were about to start their new life in PEI.
Paul made friends everywhere he went, delighting people with his generosity of spirit and humor. He gave time to community, developing projects and busy with his own inventions. Paul was a fantastic cook, hosting boisterous dinner parties. There was always lots of laughter.
Paul had a large, loving family and is deeply missed by his wife Jennifer; brothers John (Robin) and Richard; sister Bridget (Graham); sister-in-law Pamela (Victor); nieces Lillie (Kaylee), Sarah (Saul), and Kari (Chad); nephews David (Angie), Adam (Mia), and Clayton (Kelly); great-nieces Louella, Kaia, and Kina, great-nephews Lochlan, Seth, and Soren; and great-nibling Rowan.
A Celebration of Life will be held the first weekend of October. Details will be posted here soon.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Paul’s memory to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Paul Alfred Greenwood August 4th 2022..
