On Sunday, January 2, 2022 Patty Jamanella Engel loving wife and mother to her precious fur baby Dexter, passed away at the age of 57.
Patty was born on April 20, 1964 in Melville, SK to Frank and Molly Engel. The youngest of six children, she was raised in Lemberg, SK. Patty graduated Lemberg High School Class of ’82 and chose to study Computer Science at the University of Regina. After graduating, she had a long and successful career in IT as a mainframe application developer and manager for both IPSCO and SSAB. She was highly respected for her logical mind, work ethic and knowledge of steel manufacturing systems, having developed many of the QA systems still in use today by these companies.
Outgoing and athletic, like most small town girls, Patty played every sport offered to her at school but she especially enjoyed volleyball. It was through volleyball that she first encountered her husband Donny. She loved him from the moment she met him and they shared a beautiful life together.
Patty was beloved by all for her caring way, making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. She was a natural protector and helped many through challenging times in their lives with her singular grace and understanding. Patty’s playfulness and sparkling wit made her a pure joy to be around and led to many many hilarious moments that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Patty was predeceased by her father Frank and her mother Molly. She is survived by her husband Donny; her brothers Greg, Kevin and Vince; her sisters Maureen and Lee Ann; mother-in-law Donna; thirteen nieces and nephews; and eighteen great-nieces and nephews
An outdoor service for Patty will be held at a later date, when the seasons change and the weather warms. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Patty Jamanella Engel January 2nd 2022..
