Join the family as they celebrate the life of Patricia Anne Antaya
and share stories of their mom.
The Celebration of Life will be at the Moose Lodge, 850 Richmond St., Chatham
Saturday May 21st, 2022 from 1 to 5 pm
A light lunch will be provided and the bar will be open.
Patricia Anne Antaya (Ross) passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens, on Sunday October 24th, 2021, in her 90th year. Pat was born in Florence, Ontario to the late Edna (MacRobert) Ross and the late Ernest Ross. Mom worked hard, raising 5 children as a single mother. She began her retail journey at the United Cigar Store at King and Sixth Street. She spent most of her retail life at Burton’s in the heart of downtown Chatham, and truly loved her time there. Mom finished up her career dressed in style at Pizazz Florals. She always took pride in and enjoyed her work. Mom was a long-time member of Moose Lodge #1692 and enjoyed much fellowship there. She loved the competition and friendship made while participating in several dart leagues.
Mom is predeceased by her brother, Bruce Ross (1964) and granddaughter Stacey Antaya (2002). She is survived by her children Brian (Sharon) Antaya, Linda (Rick) Wright, Wayne Antaya, Calvin Antaya (Nicole) and Larry (Denice) Antaya. Also survived her grandchildren Lisa Verstraeten (John), Jeffrey Whittal, Brandon Antaya (Cindy), Jessica Smith (Greg) and Spencer Antaya (Kirsten), 5 great and 3 great great grandchildren.
Sincere thanks to the kind caregivers who helped Mom on her journey over the past 3 years, the Alzheimer Day Program, CKHA, and the wonderful staff at RVG 3 East. Mom truly appreciated being able to remain in her home for as long as possible; special thanks to Nicole and Aisling whose care allowed Mom to do so.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West, Chatham, 519-352-2710. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society of Chatham Kent, London Regional Cancer Centre (Brain Research), or charity of your choice.
