With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Patricia Anne Vary on July 15, 2022.
Trish was born October 27, 1950 in Timmins, Ontario and raised on the Delnite mine property outside of Timmins. She has resided in Sudbury since the early 1970s.
Survived by her only child, Jim Whitehead, of Sudbury, of whom she was immensely proud. She is also survived by sisters Lynne Bisset (Alan), Sharon Schroeder, April Parsons (Tom) and sister-in-law Lauren Vary (Laurence).
Predeceased by her parents, George and Barbara Vary, and her brother, John, whom she has deeply missed.
Cherished by nieces and nephews, Brad Bisset, Inge Witt, Cindy Natvik (Erik), Jason Vary (Karen), Neil Vary (Janet), Beth Vary (Steve), Baron Clement (Jestina), and Blythe Clement. And her feline companion Gwen.
Like her mother, Trish was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. She loved the outdoors and the North, kayaking, hiking, boating and camping. She traveled widely and was always keen to try new foods. Influenced by her father, Trish developed a love of the piano and classical music. For years, she and John had season’s tickets to the Sudbury Orchestra.
At Trish’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. She will be interred in Sudbury Civic Cemetery.
Trish wanted to thank her nephew, Jeff Whitehead (Melissa), Funeral Director Cathy Coe of Lougheed Funeral Homes, Maison McCulloch Hospice, especially the PSWs, nurses and fabulous kitchen crew.
If you wish, please donate to Maison McCulloch Hospice, or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home. For donations or messages of condolence www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
