Norma P. M. Parkhill (Cormier),
87, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont
University Hospital Centre, on Monday, March 7, 2022. Born in Moncton,
she was the daughter of the late Hector and Emelia (Richard)
Cormier.
Norma was a graduate of Hotel
Dieu School of Nursing in 1955, and served many years working as a
Public Health Nurse, as well as working as the activity director at
the former Veterans Hospital Unit at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont
Hospital. Norma took great joy in tending to her vegetable
and flower gardens, doing crafts and listening to music. In their
retirement years, Norma and Gerald enjoyed entertaining their family
and friends at their home in West
Branch.
Norma will be sadly missed by
her loving husband of 59 years, Gerald Parkhill; son Michael (Wendy
Spirito) of Bathurst; daughter Jean Parkhill (Cathy Creelman) of Saint
John; grandchildren David (Kim Sarty) of Halifax and Stephanie (Chris
Legacy) of Bathurst; brother Hector Cormier; sister Carmella Horsman
as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she
was predeceased by brothers Alde, Robert and Albert and sister Sr.
Laura Cormier.
The family would like to thank
the staff of 3E at The Dumont Hospital for the excellent care and
compassion shown to Norma and her
family.
Father J.B. Mallais will
celebrate Funeral Liturgy on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm from
Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the
funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in Galloway
Cemetery, NB.
