Norma was the second oldest of her siblings, Ralph, Allan, and Muriel (three others died in infancy). Norma attended McLurg School grades 1 through 8 in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, Grades 8 through 9 at Alexandra School in Wetaskiwin, and grades 10 through 12 at Wetaskiwin High School. Norma then attended the University of Alberta, where she obtained her teaching certificate. Norma married Bruce Daniells in Calgary, Alberta July 3, 1963. They had two children, Sharon and Mark. Together they parented Mark, Sharon, and Greg Daniells (wife Linda McNiven).
Norma loved her community. Through the years she had many roles, some being: Treasurer of the Library Board, working for Rainbow Literacy, Church of Christ Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Church of Christ Candlelight Circle, Social Secretary of the church, Communion Care at the Vulcan Hospital, while volunteering in long-term care regularly.
Norma loved her Lord; she was devout and steadfast in her faith. She loved her family and was an exceptional mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Norma was an avid Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, and would always defend them even if they were losing. Norma was passionate about chuckwagon racing, and could often be found listening to races, cheering loudly from her chair.
