1933-2022
A memorial service for Norma Dore of Southampton, NB, will be held
this coming Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Southampton
United Baptist Church, Southampton, NB, followed by interment in the
Lenentine Cemetery and a reception at the Southampton Community Hall.
Please join the family in this celebration of her life.
Norma was born on October 14, 1933 at Woodstock, NB, eldest daughter
of the late J. Henry and Marguerite (Gibson) Connell. She passed away
peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital on January 9, 2022.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Gord Carmichael) of Burlington,
ON; her four sons, Steven (Kathy), Jeffrey (Nancy), Michael (Nina) all
of Southampton, NB, and Paul of New Jersey, USA; nine grandchildren,
Miranda, Bryan (Natasha), Jeremy Davidson (Holly) all of Southampton,
NB, Jessica Lauzier (Jeff), Alex Davidson (Kayla) both of Woodstock,
NB, Katie, Brittany (Spencer Hall) both of Edmonton, AB, Moira of
Spruce Grove, AB, and Lindsay (Ben Gallant) of Windsor, ON; eleven
great grandchildren, Brady, Maddie, Adele, Aiden, Sophia, Marshall,
Mia, Hannah (Matt Lagacy), Isaiah, Kelly, and Halli; her great-great
grandson Elliot; her siblings Bert Connell (Dorothy), Charles Connell
(Phyllis) and John Connell (Rosalie); her sisters-in-law Eileen Fox
(Fraser), Joan McKinley and Bernice Flemming; her brother-in-law,
Maurice Dore; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Neil
Dore; her great grandson Neil Green; her sister Arline Davis (late
Gary); her sister-in-law Donna Dore, and brothers-in-law Albert
McKinley and Arthur Flemming.
In addition to her family, Norma will be remembered by many as a good
neighbour, loyal friend, excellent baker, active member of the Middle
Southampton Baptist Church and NB Women’s Institute,
enthusiastic cribbage player, and animal lover.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the
devoted caregivers who made it possible for Norma to stay at home
during her late illness.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Norma, the family
has suggested the Lenentine Cemetery, Middle Southampton Community
Hall or the Middle Southampton United Baptist Church.
