Dr. Molotiu passed peacefully at home on April 14, 2022, at the age of 84. Nic is survived by his loving wife Maria of Strathroy; sons Andrei (Julie) of Bloomington, Indiana, and Razvan (Heather) of Omaha, Nebraska; brother Marin (Ana) of Bucharest, Romania; niece Mirela (Dan) of West Bloomfield, Michigan; sister-in-law Cristina (Gheorghe) of Whitby; nephews Johann (Rachel) of Toronto and Stefan (Ashley) of Whitby; and grandchildren Alex and Celia of Bloomington, Indiana. Born on July 5, 1937 in Orastie, Transylvania, Romania, Nic attended medical school in Cluj and practiced medicine in Romania until he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1983. Nic and Maria settled in Strathroy in 1995, where he was a specialist anaesthesiologist at Strathroy Middle General Hospital until 2017.
Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Cross Romanian Orthodox Church, 47 Adelaide Street South, London on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Glen Oaks Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville at 3:00 p.m.
