Nancy Eileen Ibbitson (nee Hewitt)
Passed away peacefully in her 79th year surrounded by loved ones at the Muskoka Algonquin Health Centre in Huntsville on Monday, November 7, 2022. Beloved and cherished mother of Kelly Turner (Ted Wong) and Darrell Ibbitson (Robyn Marttila). Proud grandmother of Alyson, Adam and Aaron. Sadly missed by her siblings Terry Hewitt (Gail) and Jeff Stevenson. Proceeded in death by her parents Ross and Thelma Hewitt; two brothers Hal Hewitt and Paul Hewitt (Jeannie).
Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. A graveside service will take place in the spring of 2023 at Burks Falls Cemetery, followed by a celebration of Nancy’s life. Having worked in the textile industry in Toronto for years, Nancy was an avid Blue Jay’s and Leaf’s fan; even serving as an usher at Maple Leaf Gardens. In her later years, Nancy enjoyed tending her gardens at Kasshabog Lake and Burks Falls. The family would love if you would plant a flower, shrub, tree or Nancy’s favourite Red Roses in her honour.
If desired, donations to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation via Muskoka Algonquin Health Centre or Algonquin Grace Hospice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Dempster Chapel 210 Ontario St. Burks Falls, ON.
