Obituary of Murray David McNeice
MURRAY DAVID McNEICE
It is with the heaviest of hearts his wife and love of his life, Joanie, announces the passing of Murray David McNeice on October 21st, 2022.
He passed peacefully after 4 days at Oak Ridges Hospice in Joanie’s arms, content and feeling no pain. His abdominal cancer had spread aggressively during a 6-week ordeal, where Joanie never left his side.
Born in Port Credit, Ontario, on May 6th, 1939, he met Joanie in August of 1956, and they were married on June 4th, 1960. He was the proud father of 3 children: Jeffery McNeice (Lydia), Linda Walton (Jack), and Lisa Hudson (Chris). Loved forever by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Murray is predeceased by brothers Leonard and Stanley McNeice, as well as his niece Terri. He is cherished by sister Marilyn French. Loved by brother-in-law Cliff J. Singer and wife Monica, sister-in-law Virginia R. Cone and husband Ron. Missed by nephew Gareth (Kelly) and our sister-in-law Patricia who live in Kent, England.
Murray managed a 40-year career at Scarborough PUC, Mississauga Hydro, Sudbury Hydro and completed his career in Scarborough PUC (Toronto Hydro). After a great long career, he retired in 1996. His talents were many: singer and songwriter, with 2 albums, Credit River Band’s “Uncorked”, and “Meant to Be”. His bands were The Chords, Mojo, and Credit River Band.
Loved, admired, and respected by all who knew him, Murray was an inspiration and example of what a man, hubby, Dad, Papa, can and should be. He loved golfing, painting, reading, and The Raptors. He was a published author of “Terror Strikes the Canyon” (2019) and had just finished a second manuscript, but time ran out on the awesome story “The Empty Trailer”.
Married 62 years to Joanie, no couple ever loved each other more. Our love grew stronger every day. Murray will be missed beyond words to say, by Joanie, his children, and his whole family.
Rest in peace my darling, we’ll be together again as we were ‘meant to be’ – forever and ever.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in appreciation on Murray’s behalf.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North, Bowmanville. The family will be holding a celebration of Murray’s life on December 10th from 3:30-8:30 PM at 500 Mayfair Ave in Oshawa, Ontario.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Murray
