McDONOUGH, Mona Lisa – age 67 of Lantz, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2022, in QEII Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Green’s Harbour, Newfoundland, she was a daughter to the late William and Clara (Drover) Simmons.
Mona loved to cook and entertain her family and friends and you would often find her in the kitchen which was her happy place. She had a wonderful sense of humour and adored her dogs, Bud, Kelly, Chester and Lola. Mona enjoyed shopping and decorating and could turn any house into a welcoming home.
Mona is survived by her common-law spouse, Tim; son, Stephen (Susie); sister, Jean (Frank); brother, Ellis (Gladys); nephew, Tony Woodman, Vancouver, B.C.; father of her son, Donald; stepchildren, Justin (Jen), Tyler and Daria (Spencer).
Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Graham and Bram.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Elmsdale. No service by request.
Donations in Mona’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
