Mona Lynn MacIntosh 2022 avis de deces

With deep sadness we advise of the passing of Mona Lynn MacIntosh on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Hospice Cape Breton.
Mona was born in Sydney on July 16, 1956, to Ada (Penny) MacIntosh and the late Murray “Mackie” MacIntosh.
She attended Sydney Academy and graduated with a Dental Hygienist degree from Dalhousie University. Mona’s career led her to Victoria, BC, where her two close aunts, Debra Verwey and Christina Torontow resided and where she spent most of her working years. During this time, she was active in tennis and running marathons, as well as honing her gourmet cooking skills for family and friends. It also provided the opportunity to spend Christmases and visits in Whitehorse, Yukon with her dear sister, Sylvia.
In 2011, Mona returned to live in Sydney, where she continued her work at the Kings Road Dental Clinic. Since returning, her favourite pastimes included, attending the Eagles hockey games and swimming daily, in the summer, at Mira Gut with her mother – always being warmly greeted by her patients wherever she went. Her great love for animals was shown, especially for her American Eskimo dog, Panache and to the many cats she nurtured when working with the Feral and Abandoned Cat Society in Sydney.
Mona is survived by her mother, Ada (Penny) MacIntosh; brothers, Bradley (Valerie) and Murray (Darlene), Sydney; brother-in-law, Dave Kedziora, Whitehorse; aunts, Debra (Jerry) Verwey, Victoria, Christina (Michael) Torontow, Victoria, Eileen (the late Roderick) MacNeil, Sydney, Norma (the late Douglas) Woodill, Henrietta (Ralph) Johnson and Heather (George) Townsend, Marion Bridge; uncles, Charles (Joan) Penny, Eganville, Ont. and Willie (Kathy) MacIntosh, Louisbourg. She is also mourned by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
Mona was predeceased by her father, Murray “Mackie” (2011); sister, Sylvia Kedziora (2007); aunt, Constance Wolschlag; uncles, Miles (Betty) MacIntosh and Sylvester (Della) MacIntosh.
A funeral service will be held in Bethel Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the church hall. Private interment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anne Frances D’Intino and the staff of Hospice Cape Breton for their wonderful care of Mona during the past month.
Donations in Mona’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
