Our beloved Mom, Grandma, Nana, Great-Grandma and Great-Great-Grandma has finally put on the imperishable. At more than 108 years of age, she truly lived life to the fullest. Early in the morning of July 20th, she passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Myn was a woman of enduring faith and prayer who, with certainty knew the indescribable joy of the Lord. She touched many lives over the course of her own, and left us both priceless life lessons and wonderful memories.
Myn was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph in 2007 and her son-in-law David Wakelin in 2020.
She is survived by her twins, Jim Gilmour (Alida) & Joan Wakelin.
In addition to many nieces & nephews she has left a legacy to her grandchildren: James & (Lori) Gilmour; Sandra & (Nick) Tolsma; Alisa & (Jason) Tolsma; Don & (Cynthia) Wakelin; Rob & (Mindy) Wakelin; 12 great-grandchildren; Shyanne, Devon, Emily, Gracie, Camryn, Katie, Joseph, Andrew, Josh, Landon, Cole, Asher & great-great-grandchildren Kai & Emmitt.
Many thanks to the staff at Mt. Tolmie Hospital and the Summit at Quadra Village for their loving care over the past 5 years. Mom read Psalm 136 every day, so I suspect she’d desire all of us to remember, “His steadfast love endures for ever.”
There will be a Graveside Service at Royal Oak Burial Park, Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 2PM followed by a reception at McCall Gardens.
