Mimi Ida Alma Marie Bleich, beloved wife of Cliff Bleich ,passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday October 14 at the Kipling Integrated Care Centre at the age of 74.
Funeral service from Wawota Town Hall, Wawota, on Monday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Beverly Kay officiating. Private interment in Dumas Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Mimi.
Mimi” Ida Alma Marie Bleich of Dumas Sk Passed away October 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Mimi was born in Wawota SK, May 28, 1948. She grew up on the family farm north of Dumas until the age of 17 when they moved into Dumas.
She started working at Moose Mountain Provincial Park in 1963 where she worked as a cook in the Chalet then as laundry and cleaning for the government cabins. After working for 20 years for the provincial government at Moose Mountain Provincial Park she then moved on to work at the Deer View Lodge in Wawota In laundry and Housekeeping. She retired from the Deerview Lodge after 20 years in 2006.
It was while working at Moose Mountain she met Cliff Bleich and they got married May 3, 1969. They bought a cabin at Moose Mountain Provincial Park where they resided for 5 years. It was during this time that their daughter Stacy was born July 23, 1971. They then purchased Deschamps Store and Post Office which they ran until 1979.
Mimi was a hard worker all her life even as a child on the farm. When she was still living at home she helped out several neighbours after their babies where born. Mimi was an excellent cook, family get togethers were like smorgs! She loved Dumas country life! Loved wildlife, return of the orioles, hummingbirds and hearing cranes overhead. She loved to see the dear and moose outside their window. Mimi loved gardening -huge gardens with every vegetable imaginable. Mimi and Cliff took great pride in maintaining the Dumas Cemetery. Every part of it had to be done just so. Mimi loved visiting with anyone both in person or on the phone.
Mimi loved her daughter Stacy unconditionally and was very proud of all her accomplishments!
Mimi leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Cliff as well as her daughter Stacy, her sister Louise Lamontagne and many nieces and nephews. Mimi was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Antionette Charles as well as her brother Peter Charles.
