With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Michele Monica Soney, a member of Walpole Island First Nation on October 3, 2022 at the age of 61. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Billy Soney (2020). Dear daughter of Beulah and the late Wilbert Blackbird. She will be deeply missed by her children Bronson, Tosonna, Kala (Bill), Jordan (Anne), Clarissa (Cap), Lateisha, Keaton and Delson. Beloved grandmother of Arionna, Rance, Azlynn, Caroline, Billy, Heaven, Gage, Kase and Daxon. Sister of Darryl (late Alana), Brent (Rebecca) and Brigette. Sister-in-law of Shirley (Jim), Dave (Steph), Clifford (Dana), Lynn, P.J., Nancy (Phil) and the late Virginia (late Brian). Michele will be missed by many nieces, nephews and family and friends from far and wide. Michele was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and all-around caring person. Always making sure you were fed and full, she loved cooking for her family. She loved going on adventures to go shopping, loved staying up late to play 10,000 with her kids and was always a call away when something or someone needed to be picked up or dropped off. Michele enjoyed playing bingo and has a great love for her animals. Family and Friends are invited for community visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home (409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, 519-627-3231) on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 6-8pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Walpole Island Evangelistic Centre from 1pm until the time of her funeral at 2pm. She will be laid to rest at Highbanks Cemetery.
