LANGER, Michael Thomas – of Kentville, Kings Co., formerly of Middleton, Annapolis Co. It is with heavy hearts that we share with our family and friends the passing of Michael Thomas Langer on November 17, 2016, at the young age of 37. Michael passed away peacefully in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with pancreatitis. Born in Kingston, Ontario, raised in the Annapolis Valley, he was the son of Cecil and Elaine (MacIsaac) Langer, Middleton. Following in his family footsteps, he was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces. His interest in the medical field encouraged him to obtain his Medical Office Administration Diploma through Oulton College. Taught by his father, Michael was an accomplished 12-string guitar player. In keeping with his Cape Breton roots, he enjoyed a good kitchen party. Left to mourn his loss are his parents, his sister, Michelle Langer, Halifax; his girlfriend, Tammy, Kentville; his beloved cat Bowser and the family dog Maggie. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, with special consideration given to his Aunt Nette, South Bar. Michael was predeceased by his cherished Grampie, Michael “Johnny Mick” MacIsaac, and Nanny, Eileen MacIsaac, Sydney. He was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Florence Langer, Gardiner Mines; uncles, Gregory MacIsaac, Sydney; and John Alan MacDougall, South Bar. Michael will always be remembered for the utmost respect and love he had for his family and friends, quick wit, big grin, and dry sense of humour. There will be no visitation per request. Cremation has already taken place. Interment will follow at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Charitable donations in Michael’s memory can be made to the ALS Society of Nova Scotia, or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1 (855) 825-3448. On-line guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
