Obituary for
Michael Anton “Mike” Frebrowski
With heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” Anton Frebrowski at the age of 84 years.
Mike leaves his beloved wife of 47 years, Gladys; brother, Lawrence “Larry” (Theresa), sister-in-law, Glorann (Bob), brothers-in-law, Miles (Marietta) and Stan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Mike was predeceased by his parents Mike and Tillie Frebrowski of Mundare; and sister Roseann Kobylko of Edmonton.
Mike cherished the many happy years shared with his wife Gladys, and time spent with extended family and friends. He will be well remembered for his love of the outdoors, which included fishing, and hunting. There were many road trips to his secret blueberry and mushroom patches in the country, where he came home with pails full of the day’s pickings. He also loved gardening and his yields of tomatoes and cucumbers were a testament to his green thumb and farming roots. For many years, Mike was a proud team player in league bowling where he sent pins flying, setting record high scores and earning many awards. In his professional life, Mike was a craftsman for Perma Seal Windows and Doors; a dedicated employee who exemplified quality workmanship, integrity and respect.
Mike stayed true to his Ukrainian heritage and his love of the family homestead; whether he was listening to Ukrainian music, attending Vegreville’s Pysanka Festival, Mundare Agri Daze, driving out to the family farm to cut grass, or maintaining the grounds at Haight church parish.
Mike was generous, kind hearted and made a difference in one’s day. He was a man with a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand, and he left a lasting impression on many people. We will all be forever grateful for having had him in our lives.
Funeral service Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton.
