It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Meinczinger at the age of 81 at the Leduc Community Hospital with his family beside him.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Gladys; son Chris; daughter Grace; sister Theresa Hakstol; sister-in-law Ada Meinczinger; brothers-in-law Leslie Nemeth and Joseph Nemeth, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives in Hungary.
Joe was predeceased by three brothers George, Matt and John Meinczinger as well as his parents John and Theresa Meinczinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Leduc on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow the service at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Warburg, a luncheon will be served at the Warburg Community Centre following the interment. All who attended the funeral and any other family and friends that were unable to attend the funeral are invited to have lunch with the family and share their stories.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Leduc Community Hospital for kindness and compassionate care they gave caring and comforting Joe. Thank you also to Thorsby Home Care Unit and the Palliative Care Team for their support.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donation may be made in the name of Joe Meinczinger to the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
