Maureen Kusick Monday August 8th 2022

Mrs. Maureen Kusick, age 79 years, resident of Nipigon, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022 in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Maureen was born October 19, 1942 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. She was married December 31, 1963 to the love of her life, Bob Kusick in Hudson, Ontario. She taught at Hudson Public School until they moved to Nipigon, where she worked for many years at the Hudson Bay/Northern Store and the Association for Community Living. She enjoyed music and playing piano at St. Mary’s Anglican Church. She was also a long-time member of the Order of the Royal Purple and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survived by her daughter, Eveline (John) Maedel; grandsons, T.J. (Phoebe) and Charles (Mat); sisters, Lorraine MacLeod, Ruth (Darren) Rothwell and brother, Ian (Elaine) MacLeod.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob (2009) and parents, Joyce and Maurice MacLeod.
As per Maureen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held in Cliffside Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario.
If friends so desire, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, TBRHSF or Nipigon District Memorial Hospital.
