Mary Harris
1933 – 2022
Mary Harris passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022 at St. Paul’s Hospital at age 89. We pray that she is again united with our Lord Jesus.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband Mike. Notable surviving relatives include Ivor Smith of Rossland B.C. and his partner Jane and their sons Finlay and Allistair. Other surviving relatives include Christina Harris of White Rock B.C., Frank Harris of Prince Albert, Dr. James Harris of Prince Albert, Amy Harris of Prince Albert, and Dr. Jessica Harris of Saskatoon.
Mary was born at Milden, Sk. on May 1, 1933. She held a B.Ed. from the U of S. She later spent about two years of advanced studies. She had a long career teaching in Saskatoon. Her last position was at S.I.A.S.T. teaching ESL. Mary enjoyed a number of pastimes such as gardening, antiques and Bridge. In fact, she and Mike first met at the Saskatoon Bridge Club. Mary also loved to travel. She visited Ireland several times. She cared greatly for animals. One of her favorites was her final dog named Maurice.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital and Porteous Lodge. Also, thanks to several special friends at the Pallisades such as Dorothy Pound, Hedi Wurzer, Vick Rupps and Betty Morton. In addition, the staff at the Pallisades were very kind to Mary. Finally, a tremendous ally and great friend, Dale Dysart
