Obituary
Smith, Mary Jo (née Milner)
Mom passed away peacefully on October 13, 2022, at the age of 87, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 10, 1934 in Sackville, New Brunswick, the youngest of six children born to Hepsy Mae and Nelson Milner. Mom and Dad met in her hometown when Dad was attending Mount Allison University. They married on November 27, 1954 and celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary just before Dad’s passing in December 2015. She was the cherished mother of Gail, Carolyn (Gary), Dianne (Oscar) and Janet (Drew), and loving Grammy to Jennifer (Bill), Gabriel (Erin), Stefan (Kendra), Dane (Jessica), Lindsay (Dave) and Lauren (Alex). Oliver and Juniper, Mars and Fair, and Odette are Grammy and Pappy’s precious great grandchildren. Mary Jo was such a dedicated member of Trenton United Church, serving in so many ways through the years in the congregation and she will be deeply missed by her church family. We want to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Cardiac Science Unit at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. The compassion shown to our Mom will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends at Trenton United Church, 85 Dundas Street East, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1pm – 2pm; funeral service to follow at 2pm. There will be a private family burial. It is Mom’s wish that colourful clothing be worn to her service. In her memory, donations to the Trenton United Church Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated. Mom and Dad are now together forever. Please share your memories in the online guestbook at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com
