It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Anne (Robichaud) Geikie, of Miramichi, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 85.
Born in Alnwick Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Elzear and Salome (Breau) Robichaud.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 66 years Bernard Geikie of Miramichi; four daughters Hazel Russell (Dale) of Miramichi, Debbie Geikie of Miramichi, Cynthia Geikie (Clifford) of Saint John, and Kellie Matchett (Richard) of Miramichi; sister Yvonne Rumble (late Wayne) of Riverview; three brothers Ernest (Trish) of Toronto, Eugene “Blackie” of Nelson, and Edgar (Sanna) of Moncton; two brothers-in-law Paul Roy of Quebec and Charles Geikie of Miramichi; sister-in-law Laura Robichaud of Saint John; seven grandchildren Wesley Aaron Geikie, Nicole Mahoney (J.F. Doré), Christopher Mahoney (Kylie), Dana Marr (Ian), Bronson Matchett (Renelle), Jacob Russell (Laura) and Karla Hodge (Greg); nine great grandchildren Abigail, Lexi, Luc, Janelle, Bentley, Ava, Jase, Penelope, and Joni; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her parents-in-law Charles and Hazel Geikie; brother Terrance Robichaud; and four sisters Cecille Roy, Annette Empsall (late Rick), Emily Robichaud, and Delphine Robichaud (late Arisma).
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11 am, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Thomas Nisbett officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Red Cross, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
