Camus, Edith Mary
In loving memory of Edith Mary Camus, 75, who passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North on Wednesday February 23rd, 2022. Born in Sydney Nova Scotia the family moved to Sudbury in 1947. Loving brother of Alfred (Joyce) and sister Mary Bertosa (Tony predeceased). Preceded in death by brother Arthur (2019), sister Rita (2010), and parents Lucie Jeanne Deveaux Camus (2007) and Joseph Camus (1971). Edith was a loving and caregiving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and the social butterfly of the family. She was giving of herself wherever she could and always with a smile. Over the years she was a great nanny to many Copper Cliff children under her care and remained in contact with them as they progressed through life. She undertook an active housekeeping role and in later life returned home as caregiver for her aging mother, brother, and sister. Edith always tackled problems head on, and even as her own health problems were taking its toll, she was never one to complain. In January her health broke down and she was admitted to hospital where she was lovingly cared for by the medical staff and nurses of 5 and 6 South and the 4 North Palliative Unit. At Edith’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at Park Lawn Cremation with interment at Lasalle Cemetery in the family plot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Diabetes Canada or a Charity of your choice.
