Obituary
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, granny and Baba. Mary passed peacefully at Hampton Terrace LTC on Sunday, January 2, as she entered her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband John Baum, daughter Jeannie and son-in-law Keith Laurenssen. Loved mother to Rick (Lucille) Baum. Will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Laurie (Mark), Heather, Lisa (Jason), Kayla (James) and Lucas. Special Baba to her 6 great-grandchildren. Mary will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and their families.
Having come to Canada when she was only five months old, Mary had overcome many obstacles. Eventually marrying her husband John, they settled in East Flamborough, where they raised their family and prospered as market gardeners. As our Granny we will never forget the endless unconditional love, countless sleepovers and blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Mary was known for her delicious cooking and beautiful gardens, which she took so much pride in. Her compassionate heart allowed her to care for those she loved.
A special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Hampton Terrace LTC for the excellent care Mary was given over the past six years.
A Private Family Service will be held with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
