Mary Anne Unwin 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Grandmother (Baba) and Great-Grandmother Anne Unwin on November 9th, 2022, close to her 91st birthday. She was surrounded by her family and dealt with her health issues on her terms up to the very end.
Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Josephine Shuparski, her brother William Shuparski, her husband Douglas Sidney and her eldest son Douglas John. She is survived by her children Ken (Lois) of Sudbury, Bruce (Cathy) of Kamloops, Bernice (Robert Loftus) of Sudbury and Peg (Mike Piche) of Sudbury, along with eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Anne grew up in Levack and lived there for most of her life, before moving to Val Caron, Sudbury and then Lively. She was very active in the church, volunteered for many years with Science North and more than 20 years with the Valley East Food Bank. Her passion for gardening will be honoured and continued by many. In her down time, she was an avid reader. Anne’s determined outlook and attitude served her well through her long life.
Special thanks to the many staff, doctors and Chaplain Kathy Dahmer at HSN for their compassion and caring in her final weeks.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a small service, then there will be hot beverages and desserts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Valley East Food Bank and are greatly appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Anne Unwin 2022..
