Obituary
With great sadness, the family of the late Marlene Witzko announce her passing at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK, on May 11, 2022, at the age of 66 years.
Marlene was born on November 14, 1955, to William and Mary (nee Gondziola) Witzko at Canora, SK. She grew up on the family farm just outside Canora, SK and attended Canora Composite High School. In her early 20’s, she moved to Saskatoon, SK, where she lived with her sister, Geraldine. She had many stories of her time in Saskatoon working at the dry cleaners and spending time with many friends. After a short time, she moved to Spruce Grove, AB. In 1981, she had her first child, Jamie, and moved back to Canora, SK.
A few years later, she met Phillip Dziaduck and moved to the farm with him. Marlene and Phil continued to grow their family with Chad in 1987 and Lindsey in 1988. Marlene loved to be outdoors, and you would often find her cutting grass on the farm, in town at Baba’s doing yard work, or tending to the garden or flower beds.
When her children were out of school, Marlene went to work as a server at Family Matters. After Family Matters, she started working at Harvest Pizza, where she continued to make more friends. In addition to working and being there for her family, Marlene also became a huge support to her mother and helped out around her house in Canora whenever needed.
Marlene loved to be with people and was a very social person. She would talk to everyone she saw. Marlene also enjoyed listening to country music and going to rodeos and sports days. She spent a lot of time with family and friends making memories and telling those stories for years to come. Above all, Marlene loved her grandchildren and was the biggest support to them. She was with her grandchildren every day that she could be.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marlene was predeceased by her father, William Witzko; her brother, Randy Witzko; and her sister, Geraldine Englot.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Witzko; partner, Philip Dziaduck; sons, Jamie (Corry) Witzko and Chad (Jaime) Witzko; daughters, Lindsey Witzko and Denise (Jimmy) Jordan; grandchildren: Destiny Witzko, Damian Woolman, Wyatt Witzko, Brittany (Matthew) Fiegal, Josh Siedler, and Kyra Siedler; great-grandchildren, Brynn and Kalem Fiegal; brothers, David (Jeanette) Witzko and Garry (Debbie) Witzko; and sisters, Gale (Jerry) Strellaeff and Evangeline (Flloyd) Glass; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2022, and the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2022, both from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Rev. Fr. Petro Tsenov officiating. Interment will follow in the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK.
