Marilyn Joyce Young
1955-2022
HARCOURT, NB – Marilyn Joyce Young, 67, of Harcourt
passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October
26th, 2022. Born in Moncton, she was the
daughter of the late John and Cecilia (Tilly) Geldart. Marilyn was a
school bus driver and worked until very recently, when her illness
made it impossible to continue. She was also a member of the Harcourt
– Royal Canadian Legion Branch #75 Ladies Auxiliary.
Marilyn lived a beautiful, humble life. She was a wife and
mother who provided comfort and solace while asking little in return.
Her husband, Fred, adored her and together they helped to raise their
girls with integrity, loyalty, love and compassion. Her newest love,
Tilly, gave her so much joy and comfort these last few years. She was
a sister to five wonderful brothers, who she loved to gather at family
“parties”; they loved her very much.
She loved her “little Tilly”, loved to spend time
with her daughters, her grandchildren and her newest great grandson.
She loved going for suppers with Fred on Sundays, day adventures with
her friends, “the girls”, she loved seafood and the kids in
her community. She loved helping others and asking nothing in return.
She loved to shop and to feed people. Christmas was her favorite
holiday, and the changing of the seasons. Family was everything to
her. She loved doing the Christmas dinner for the kids at
the Harcourt School. She was a hard worker. She loved
everyone with all her heart.
Marilyn leaves to mourn her loving husband, Fred Young of
Harcourt; two daughters, Stacey Boudreau (Damien) of Lutes Mountain
and Sasha Richard of Moncton; her step-daughter, Trisha Delahunt
(Chris) of Salisbury; as well as her seven grandchildren, Madison,
Meadow, Hunter, Taylor, Maya, Brooke and Shayla, her great-grandson,
Colson and two special little boys, Isaac and Evan.
Marilyn will also be sadly missed by her four brothers,
Donnie Geldart (late Cammy) of Truro, NS, Stewart Geldart (Susan),
Doug Geldart (Nina) and Glenn Geldart (Connie), all of Moncton; her
sister-in-law, Pat Geldart of Riverview; as well as by her many nieces
and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brother,
Robert.
