It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of
Marie Emily Brown, age 84, of Springhill,
NS. Marie passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 with family by her
side, at All Saints Hospital, Springhill.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence
and Cynthia (Pettigrew) Spence.
Marie was a long time member of St. Andrews Wesley United
Church, Springhill. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, the shopping
network, and cards with friends. She enjoyed welcoming visitors to the
Anne Murray Centre. She also celebrated her 80th birthday with a much
loved trip to England, with son David, to see grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by sons, David (Debra), Lethbridge,
AB, Michael (Treena Larson), Enfield, NS, and Peter, Vancouver, BC; 7
grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Faye) Spence,
Springhill; sisters, Beverly Harvey, Kentville and Gloria King,
Oromocto, NB; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband LeRoy
Brown.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to A.
H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill,
(902 597 2361) where visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21,
2022 from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed immediately by her funeral service
at 2 pm, Ruth Gamble, DLM, officiating. Immediate family only burial
will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
Donations in Marie’s memory made be made to the ALS Society,
the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Brain Centre in
Halifax.
