Marie Catherine Deveau

Age 91, Cheticamp, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Foyer Père Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp. She was the daughter of the late Charlie à Hyppolite (Polite) and the late Luce (Cormier) Deveau.
Marie Catherine worked for 26 years at the former Sacred Heart Hospital. She had a generous heart and was always willing to replace workers in the kitchen, laundromat, or on the patient floors. She had a very good memory and rarely forgot a name. Even at 90 years of age, she remembered the names of those she had cared for over the years. She had many friends because of her keen interest in everyone she encountered.
Marie Catherine is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Deveau, Jules Verne, Québec, and Angéline (Deveau) Begin, St. Jacques, Québec. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Johnny Deveau, and Emmanuel Deveau.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:30 am, in l’Église St. Pierre, Cheticamp with Father Pierre Antoine St. Cyr officiating. Burial at a later date in the parish cemetery.
