Marie Anne Lyver
November 4, 1945 – September 13, 2022
It is with hearts full of sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister Marie Lyver on Tuesday September 13th, 2022 at the GPA Unit at the Waterford Hospital surrounded by her family. Marie fought a courageous battle with both dementia and cancer.
Marie was predeceased by her parents James and Ethel Finney. Her sister Lorraine Drake and brother Jerry Finney, mother and father-in-law Mary and Lawrence Lyver, brothers-in-law Jimmy (Mary), Maurice, and Frank (Kay).
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of loving memories husband Larry of 60 years; children Larry (Andrea), Lynn Lyver Sparkes, Maurice (Grace), and Kristen Hussey (Terry), Grandchildren – Special Grandson Donny Sparkes (Kayla), Amanda Dyke (Dustin), Lawrence (Hailey), Colin, Hannah (Corey), Sarah (Jake), Colby and great grandchildren Arabella, Dominic and Jaxon. Sisters Judy Vanta and Sharron Lyver (Kevin). Brothers Jimmy Finney (Glenda) and Pat Finney (Shelley). Special sister-in-law Dorothy Goodyear (Steve) and Anna Carrol.
Marie will be fondly remembered by her co-workers at NTV (30 plus years) and by all her friends in the Labour Movement.
Special thanks to Dr. Curtis and all the staff of North 2A (GPA Unit) Waterford Hospital. Their care and compassion went above and beyond the call of duty. Their kindness and professionalism touched all of us and will never be forgotten.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road, on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place from St. Teresa’s Church on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. with inurnment to follow to Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
