ZAPPAVIGNA, Maria Santa – Peacefully at Niagara Health St. Catharines Site on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Santa (Cirillo) of Thorold in her 84th year. Wife of the late Paolo Zappavigna. Dear mother of Lisa Nigro, Grace (Frank Cuffaro), the late Carlo Zappavigna and Carmelo Zappavigna. Loving nonna to Michelle and Alexandra Zappavigna, Nicole and Matthew Nigro, Paolo and Selena Cuffaro, and great nonna to Ariana and Amiah. Pre-deceased by her parents Graziano and Maria Cirillo. Sister of Antoinetta (Antonio Leone), Gary Cirillo (Debbie), Dominic Cirillo (Cindy) and sister-in-law to Nellie (late Joe Cirillo). Dearly loved sister-in-law to Vincenzo Zappavigna (late Lidia), Giuseppina (Leonardo Sollazzo) and Bruno Zappavigna (late Teresa). Predeceased by her sisters Elizabetta (Antonio DeStefano), Maria Grazia (Salvatore Plati), Angela (Doug Allan), brothers Frank Cirillo (Rosa) and Vito Cirillo and predeceased by her in-laws Rosa (Jimmy Datillo), Domenic Zappavigna (Emilia) and Caterina (Natale Armeni). Santa will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, friends and neighbours. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 with Vigil Prayers recited at 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, would be appreciated.
