Passed away peacefully on June 13, 2022 with her family by her side at 93 years of age. Reunited with her loving husband Roy (2014). Dearest mother of Joanne Fortier (Jamie), Jeff (Patti Oncea) and Stewart (Kathleen). Proud grandmother of Ryan (Pam), Matthew (Joann Abass), Ian and Eric. Great-grandmother to Brayden, Forest and Caleb. Pre-deceased by her brother Arthur Vanderbeek. Dear friend of Barry & Heather Hooper.
Maria was a loving stay-at-home mother, an avid reader, enjoyed entertaining, sewing, shopping and traveling with Roy to sunny destinations. Together they were long-time members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255. After Roy’s passing, she spent 8 years at Amica enjoying many friendships and daily outings. But above all else, being with her family was her greatest joy.
