Obituary of Margaret Burbridge (nee Lumsden)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Burbridge at the Ottawa General Hospital on January 27, 2022 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by husbands Kevin Murphy and Ralph Burbridge, sisters Doreen Marcenko, Fay Pealow and Joan Whitehead and brother Keith Lumsden. Margaret is survived by her step-son Terry Burbridge and his family and her sisters-in-law Phyllis Lumsden and Madeleine Murphy. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and their families, to whom she was devoted. Her elegance and kindness will never be forgotten. Margaret was a long-time employee of R.L Crain Ltd before her retirement. Margaret had many friends and was particularly close to Mary Pavlakovic and Keiko Nagasawa. Margaret was grateful for Keiko’s visits to her home in recent months. Special thanks to Pat Edwards for providing compassionate personal care which allowed Margaret to remain in her own home until very recently. A Memorial Service will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel on Margaret’s birthday Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. Inurnment and reception to follow. Those wishing to attend virtually can do so by using this link at service time Funeral Service Link. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
