Desanti, Margaret (nee Ferguson)
In loving memory of Margaret Desanti. It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Margaret Desanti on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home with loving family at her side. Margaret was born in Copper Cliff on September 30, 1936 to Kathleen and George Ferguson both predeceased. She was the beloved wife of Eddie Desanti predeceased 2015 for 58 wonderful years. Loving Mom of Debbie Forsyth (husband Brent) of Sudbury, Bob Desanti (wife Tina) of Sault Ste Marie, and Donna Brons (husband Al) of Val Caron. Cherished Nana of Jeffrey Forsyth (Tammy), Jennifer Parisé (Eric), Ryan Desanti (Danielle), Shane Desanti (Alicia), Tara Desanti (Brandon), Jesse Brons (Fiona) and Jordan Brons. Adored big Nana of Rylan and Avery Forsyth, Addison and Carrington Parisé, Haven Bellerose Brons, Gracie Brons and Robert Desanti. Margaret is also survived by her (much younger) dear sister Gwen Chmilar. Her sisters Gloria Trezise, Sylvia Eles, Kay Kuzniar and her only brother Art Ferguson are all predeceased as well as sister-in-law Anna Ferguson and brothers-in-law Joe Eles, Jim Kuzniar, Alan Chmilar and George Trezise. Mom carved a wonderful and fulfilled life from her growing up in Copper Cliff to where she worked for the International Nickel Company in Computer Systems. It was around that time she captured the heart of the love of her life; our Dad, and they were married on June 2, 1956. Mom especially loved her children, grandkids and great grandkids and she delighted in all of our successes. Her most gratifying career was being Mom, Nana and Big Nana. Mom’s adventurous spirit led her and Dad to travel often, and she visited all of East and West Canada, Spain and Africa, the Netherlands and Europe several times. Mom had a wonderful Holy Land tour of Israel, with her sister Gwen and a group from the Church of the Epiphany, led by Bishop Tom Corston. Mom and Dad also enjoyed many great winters in Florida after their retirement, and she had a real zest for living and will be forever remembered by the Motto – Live, Laugh and Love. The family will welcome relatives and friends at a Memorial Service to celebrate Margaret’s life. Visitation at the Church of the Epiphany, 85 Larch St., Sudbury on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11am. (Friends may gather at the church after 10am Saturday, March 5, 2022). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of the Epiphany or the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated. Committal of Margaret’s ashes will take place at the Civic Memorial Cemetery at a later date. For donations or messages of condolence, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com
